Tate Dobbins joined the Learning Lab team at Newport Institute in California in July 2020. An educational professional skilled in youth development, applied behavior analysis, and behavior assessment, she is passionate about supporting and encouraging students to challenge themselves to be the best they can be.
“My students and clients are my biggest influences,” Tate says. “Watching them overcome obstacles and achieve goals inspires me every day. I believe our clients leave with a better understanding of themselves as well as new opportunities for their future.”
Experience
Tate excels in tutoring in the areas of English Language Arts, critical thinking, and reading comprehension. As a tutor, classroom aide, and behavior analyst with the ABRITE Organization in Santa Cruz, California, she served students with autism using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). The ABA approach focuses on improving social, communication, and learning skills through positive reinforcement. Tate also has experience as a homeschool teacher, developing and delivering lesson plans and creating an open and welcoming learning environment.
