Before moving into her current role, Olivia was an Individual Therapist at Newport Academy, supporting adolescents to heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and co-occurring issues such as substance abuse. Prior to joining the Newport team, she spent more than eight years as a clinician with Family and Children’s Aid in Connecticut, providing both in-home and outpatient therapy to children and families.
Olivia is an EMDR Certified Therapist, an EMDR Facilitator trained through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness, and an EMDR Consultant approved by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). She is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Processing, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, and Life is Good Playmakers, a practice that focuses on using play to help children heal.
Advice I Would Give My 20-Something Self
Be kind to yourself, and remember that you don’t have to be perfect. No one is perfect, and our imperfections are part of what makes us unique and beautiful. There is always room to grow and learn from our experiences. You are stronger and more capable than you think you are.
